Gas-to-Electric Water Heater Conversion in Bergen County, NJ
Eliminate combustion, venting, and gas lines in one upgrade. NJ Clean Energy and federal IRA incentives make the conversion cheaper than many owners expect — we plan around the panel, the space, and the rebate path.
What this covers
The gas-to-electric water heater conversion scope.
Panel capacity audit
Verify your electrical panel has capacity for a 30–50A 240V circuit. Upgrade path if not.
Equipment sizing
Heat pump water heater (HPWH) vs standard electric. HPWH recovers ~3× the energy, eligible for higher rebates.
Permit + inspection
Bergen County permit pulled, electrical and plumbing inspection scheduled and passed before we leave.
Gas line capping
Existing gas feed safely capped or re-routed per NJ UCC code. Not abandoned live.
Rebate paperwork
We document installed equipment model, serial, and install date so you have what you need for the NJ and federal submissions.

Gas-to-Electric Water Heater Conversion FAQ
Quick answers before you call.
What rebates and tax credits apply in NJ?
NJ Clean Energy heat-pump water heater rebates plus the federal IRA 25C tax credit (currently up to $2,000) often stack. We document model, serial, and install date so you have what you need to file. We don’t prepare the rebate forms but we hand you a clean paper trail.
Will my electrical panel handle it?
Heat pump water heaters typically need a 30A 240V circuit; resistance electric needs 30–50A. We audit panel capacity before we quote. If an upgrade is needed, that scope and cost is on the written estimate up front.
Do you warranty the work?
Yes. 1-year workmanship warranty on every install and repair — if it fails because of how we did it, we come back and fix it. Equipment carries manufacturer warranty (typically 6–12 years depending on unit), which we register at install.
