Common questions

Plumbing & heating FAQs

Quick answers before you call.

How quickly can OCG respond to an emergency?
For active leaks, flooding, or gas concerns, we prioritize Bergen County calls and aim to respond same day. Non-emergency work is typically scheduled within a few business days.
Do you provide estimates before starting work?
Yes — we give a written estimate before any work begins. For diagnostic work such as hidden leak detection, we may charge a service call fee, but we will tell you upfront.
Are you licensed and insured?
OCG is operated by a licensed NJ master plumber (Lic. 13158), fully bonded and insured. We carry general liability and workers’ compensation coverage.
Do you work on older Bergen County homes with galvanized or cast iron pipes?
Yes. Bergen County has many pre-1960 homes. We work regularly with galvanized, cast iron, and lead-flare fittings and know the common failure points in older local systems.
Can you handle plumbing and heating in the same visit?
Yes. OCG handles both plumbing and hydronic heating (boilers, radiators, zone valves). If you have a boiler issue and a plumbing problem in the same home, we can cover both in one call.
How do I know if I need a plumber or can fix it myself?
For anything involving supply lines under pressure, valves, sewage, or gas, call a plumber. DIY repairs on pressurized lines often cause larger failures. If it involves anything past the P-trap or a water heater, we’re happy to take a look first.
